Heads up: this replaces formulas
- It converts AI formulas into static values in your active sheet.
- Make a copy of your sheet first if you want to keep the original formulas.
- Wait for your results to finish loading before saving outputs.
How do I save AI results as values?
- Run your AI formulas and wait until the results look correct.
- In Google Sheets, go to Extensions → AI for Sheets → Save Formula Output.
- The add-on replaces supported AI formulas with their current values.
When should I use this?
- You want to avoid re-running formulas when you re-open a sheet.
- You want to sort, filter, or share a sheet without triggering recalculation.
- You want to freeze outputs before handing the sheet to someone else.
Which formulas does it save?
Save Formula Output currently converts these formulas when they appear in your sheet:
=GEN=TRANSLATE=SENTIMENT=TAGS=WRITE=ANALYZE=SUMMARIZE=VISION=TRANSCRIBE=REPHRASE=SPAM=AISEARCH=IMAGEN

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I undo this?
Usually yes if you press Undo right away. If you need a safer workflow, duplicate the sheet first and run Save Formula Output on the copy.
Does this make extra AI calls?
No. It uses the results that are already in your cells, then replaces formulas with those values.
Can I save only a few cells?
Use Google Sheets copy and paste values for specific cells or columns. If you want repeatable results without changing the formula, try turning Cache on in Custom instruction and cache.
